Pages On: Asbestos Exposure
Asbestos is an extremely hazardous material that can cause devastating damage to the lungs of anyone unlucky and to inhale it. Fortunately, Asbestos is harmless if not disturbed. However, many professionals have been forced to work with Asbestos in roles such as shipbuilding, electricians, and roofers. Where proper training is not provided, or the right personal protective equipment — as it is a heavily regulated industry — then your employer is liable for putting you at risk. Asbestos exposure can result in a myriad of lung diseases, such as Asbestosis and Mesothelioma, both of which are often fatal. If you have suffered from Asbestos exposure, you may be entitled to claim compensation.

Following a recent surge of complaints about the way in which war veterans are compensated after being diagnosed with mesothelioma, David Cameron has agreed to review the system. It currently stands that the Ministry of Defence (MoD) is protected by law from having to pay out compensation to illness or injury suffered before 1987. Figures have revealed that this means that around 2,500 Royal Navy veterans will die of mesothelioma from asbestos-exposure on ships decades ago – the most they can do is apply for a war pension. A war…

Asbestos was used as a building material for fireproofing and insulation between the 1950s and 1980s, before its potential health risk was identified. The Health and Safety Executive said that…

Mesothelioma from Asbestos Exposure at Work Compensation Claims in Manchester
Posted in: Asbestos Exposure, Mesothelioma
Although asbestos usage is now outlawed, Mesothelioma compensation claims have been rife over the last 30 years. Asbestos is a building material that was heavily used in the 1960s as insulation. At the time, it was not known that exposure to asbestos could result in a form of lung disease, or even the cancer known as Mesothelioma. Even when it was discovered, it took a long time for asbestos use to be phased out. This is because in many cases, the symptoms of Mesothelioma did not present themselves until many…
