A construction worker who was very seriously injured in a motor vehicle accident whilst travelling to work has been awarded over £300,000 in compensation. The accident occurred when a female driver travelling in the other direction lost control of her car and veered into the path of the worker. A legal bid for compensation has been launched by the lawyers of a toddler who was left with extremely serious injuries following a tragic car crash in which her mother was killed. 37-year-old Nick Brancher has been awarded compensation after he was involved in a head-on collision with another car in April 2013. A whiplash scam was recently uncovered after a lorry’s on-board video footage was released, showing that the car swerved out in front of the lorry intentionally. The driver of the car filled out four whiplash claims for the individual passengers, totalling £75,000, following the supposed ‘accident’. A lollipop lady has finally won compensation following an accident that happened in 2011. The South Sheilds lollipop lady Eleanor Harman has struggled to win compensation since the devastating accident, but has finally been successful due to the finding of crucial CCTV footage. The speed limit of a stretch of road in Cambridgeshire has been temporarily reduced after six accidents were reported there in a window of six days; in one of which a man died.
